These images were created on the Farne Islands, Northumberland, England. Artic Tern's nest on the ground around the landing jetty and the path onto the Inner Farne in the Farne Islands. They aggressively defend their nests from passing visitors making them a spectacular photo subject.
Arctic Terns are common summer visitors to the North and the West of the UK. They can be distinguished from the Common Tern which has a dark tip to it's red bill.
“The Guardian” - The walk from the boats to the centre of Inner Farne, takes visitors through the Artic Tern colony. These small birds fearlessly and ferociously defend their chicks and nests from passing pedestrians.
